Tattooist “imprints” his work

Reported by Xiao Ting

Douglas Ting holds an occupation that many have not dreamed of. He leaves permanent imprints for a living; he is a tattooist.

Douglas did not start off with tattooing. Previously, he worked in the government sector. But after he helped a friend choose a tattoo artist, he was inspired to become a professional tattooist himself.

He never looked back. Douglas, who trained in Thailand and USA, is a passionate artist who feels honoured that his clients request his artistic services.

Not only an avid tattoo artist, he is also a devoted father of two. His children’s presence stays with him during work, with their Sanskrit -translated names imprinted on his forearm.

People in Singapore continue to show an interest in getting a tattoo and Douglas believes he can continue to be a tattooist in the years to come.
